Inbound Links Still the Key - October 18th, 2008

Inbound links has been a major factor in the SERP with major search engines especially Google throughout the last 6 years; obviously major search engines failed to find another effective metric to relay on in ranking websites other than links. Hence what search engines try to do now is tightening the space for link traders by penalizing any website/web master that tries to game their algorithm.

SEO service provider those focus all their SEO efforts only on link building need to change their beliefs that inbound links will not harm a site, that has been changed , a reckless link building campaign might end up your website penalized by Google.

Google now observing very closely the groth/history of every website’s links, any extra ordinary changes in the your inbound links groth might rise a red flag some where in Google Plex that triggers a human review or you may end up with a penalty by Google Bot without any human interfere, yes links are still the main factor that decide your ranking but what has changed is which links can help and which cannot, further more you need to know before add a link also which of them are harmful to your website and which are not, here is some tips to help you to build health links:
- Do not go after quantity, quality matters more. You can use some factors like PR, crawling frequency and inbound links to find good resource of links.
- Keep checking Google Webmasters guidelines for new rules (i.e. links exchange had been declared to be against Google TOS)
- Inbound links might harm your websites, stop listening to those who saying that inbound link will not harm your website as they are beyond your control, actually they can, try always not to trigger any red flag; thinks that might trigger red flag is a huge jump in your link building velocity or large amount of inbound links pointing to your website using the exact same anchor, even if you are smart enough to trick the robot you will not be able to trick a human audit.

SEO consultant in Toronto and other locations need to live with the reality that search engines evolve every day, if you need to stay in the game you need to evolve with the same rate or even faster. With the huge amount of data that is Google collecting daily from users it is getting very hard to game the results, as Google set almost a red flag for any changes in your site (inbound links, search engine traffic and user behavior on your website), so even if you tricked Google bot there will be a human being checking these red flags and take instant action in case he finds and violation of Google TOS.

Finally you can join the social SEO activities and conferences in your city to expand you knowledge and build your network, SEO Toronto Meet UP is an example for search engine optimization and link building social activities.

Paying Off Credit Card Debt - October 13th, 2008

Studies indicate that a absolute majority of the people at some time will get a trouble with credit card debt. Nowadays, a lot of folks feel themselves overwhelming in credit card responsibilities with available balances just about the maximum and not able to get further than the minimal payments at painful rates of interest barely to keep afloat.

If you feel yourself in this predicament, there are a few working things to do and think about which will enable you, extra time, to get out of credit card debt and go on to live an easy life. Several of these hints will look basic, given the reality that we frequently discover ourselves hooked to purchasing on credit and remaining well vague about how much we really owe, and what our debt is actually costing us.

Assuming you’re at the last of your circle and losing sleep, here are what to do:

1. Quit using credit now! Yeah, it could be arranged. Come on a cash basis. Don’t panic. A lot of folks choose to cut up their credit cards or, at a minimal, set it in the back of their freezer.

2. Begin keeping a track record of all money you spend. Use a little note and put down everything, yes everything, from latte’s to prices to snacks.

3. After a month, add together every of your expendings. Break off them down into categories such as lease or mortgage, clothing, automobile, utilities, food in, food out, nails, defrayals against your credit cards and so forth. You likely will find out some surprises.

4. Intimately analyze each of your true expenses and, on paper, begin cutting off those that are not utterly essential and bringing down others that are out of line. Be willing to get over your vagueness. Be realistic and remorseless.

5. From the final result of your analysis, organize a monthly spending plan, using your categories, that comes inside your income and provides you to make larger payments versus your credit cards.

6. Start cutting down your credit card debt by pay off debt as much as your spending plan provides, higher up the minimal monthly payment, towards the lowest of all your credit card responsibilities. Meanwhile keep clearing minimum payments versus the additional credit card balances.

7. Once the lowest amount due has been paid up in full, start out going for the additional cash to compensating the next smallest balance. Repeat this method till all credit card debt has been carried off. Sure, it will need time.

8. Use hard cash, checks or a debit card to do foodstuff, clothing and alike leverages. Write down each of these expendings in your little notebook. If needed, you can buy airline tickets and rent cars with a debit card.

9. Keep going keeping a monthly tally of all your expenses in order to be sure you’re going on to your spending plan. Hold yourself responsible, if you can, by discussing your spot and progress with somebody you believe or a spiritual advisor.

10. Most importantly, don’t take on any new debt. Try on paying all bills the moment you receive them. Touch them once. Do not let them to accumulate. That manner you’ve no outstanding bills.

Nothing will contribute to your common sense of well-being much responsibly dealing your debts and working up for your future day. You will be able to get rid of your credit card debt by sticking with the direct plan outlined above.

3 Simple Tips For Making Money Online Even If You Don’t Have Anything To Sell! - October 8th, 2008

Have an idea about how to make money online but don’t know where to start?

There are several ways to make money online – even if you don’t have a product to sell. Keep in mind that running an online business takes time and effort, just like running any business. However, you can get started without any products, which is one less roadblock for most people wanting to start a business.

You don’t need to be a computer expert to run an online business, but you do need to either be able to set up a website, or have the resources to pay someone else to do it for you.

Here are 3 simple ways to make money online even if you don’t have your own product:

Affiliate programs
Being an affiliate means you are selling other people’s products, and you get a percentage of the sale, or you make a small fee for each person who requests more information. Most major retailers offer affiliate programs, along with many smaller retailers (with lots of good products and services). It’s not a good idea to try to compete with an established retailer like Wal-Mart, Target, or Circuit City. A better way to make money is to find a “niche” that serves a smaller group of people, that you can easily reach.

For example, rather than selling sporting goods to everyone, you might start a fishing site that sells canoes and fishing products to people who like fresh water fishing. You can also find smaller retailers who may offer more specialized products to those who know a lot about fishing, while selling the basics from Wal-Mart to beginners.

A good place to start is Commission Junction (http://www.CJ.com), and you’ll get an idea of the products you can offer. Be creative in finding your niche, start with something you know a little about, or enjoy doing, and before long you can be making money online!

Adsense from Google
Adsense is an advertising program from search engine Google.com (there are other advertising programs you can offer, but for now Google’s is the biggest and most popular). By placing ads on your site, you earn money for each person who clicks on the ad. Google will automatically determine which ads are best for your site, based on the topic of each web page. All you have to do is place the code on your web page, and Google does the rest.

You can also sell individual ads, and determine your own terms and price. But using a program like Google is simple, and if your set gets a lot of visitors, you can make money online. Again, the best way to succeed is to find a niche, create a website around that topic, and Google will be able to determine the best ads for your visitors.

Write a “How-To” booklet
If you don’t want to sell other people’s products, but don’t have a lot of money to create your own, a simple way to get started is to write your own “how-to” booklet. Pick a topic you know enough to write about, and start writing. Information products are always good sellers – the key is to solve a particular problem. “How to catch fresh water fish” or “How to plan a fishing vacation on a tight budget” are possibilities for the fishing niche mentioned above.

To learn more, do a search for “creating information products” or “writing e-books”, and you will find lots of resources. Once you create your product, Clickbank.com offers a simple service to help you sell your information product, and there are others to help you get started.

Again, be creative, there are lots of problems out there that people need help with. And offering a good solution can make you lots of money!

Making money online takes more than just building a website. You need to pick the right products or services. Then you need to find the right audience to sell those products and services. Then you need to promote your website to enough people so you can make money. For now, you should have enough ideas on how to make money online – even if you don’t have a product to sell yet!

Making Your Affiliate Business Profitable - May 26th, 2008

There is a misconception on the internet that it is possible to profit from affiliate programs without really doing much of anything. This has attracted many people to become affiliate marketers.

Many affiliates simply place the merchant’s ad on their website and just wait for someone to click on it to collect profits. These are the affiliates who, more often than not, will fail. Most end up quitting out of frustration because they are not seeing profits. Marketing is an essential aspect of any online business and affiliate programs are no exception.

How to Become a Better Affiliate - May 23rd, 2008

First of all you need to understand that an Affiliate Program takes time to make it work. No one achieved “financial freedom” overnight. All those websites claiming to make you reach in just a couple of days (I have seen even shorter periods of time) are not telling you the truth. But that does not mean you can not make money from that program. You need to realize it can be done over time and a great deal of persistence.

It is a fact that 95% of the people who joined an affiliate program is not involved in the money making process after a year of signing up. Those are the “quitters”. For the rest of us, some will make it and some won’t but your chances of making it are much higher due to the time and work that you put in it, and the number of referrals you gained during this time. This is when you start seeing some pretty good results, at least compared to your first month check. You have to give it a try for at least a year to even consider working with another company or don’t do anything anymore.

What’s a Mini Affiliate Site? - May 20th, 2008

In this article I’m going to cover two specific marketing tactics, yet they do however tie in together. I’m going to show you how Niche Marketing can be very effective and how Mini Affiliate Sites can earn you a very good ongoing income, if done well. I will also show you how to promote your Mini Affiliate Sites for the best result.

Niche Marketing is the concept of targeting a specific group or audience. For example, have a look at www.lurenet.com, they target a specific audience/product, Fishing Lures, and do it well. I know the people behind crystallures.com as I did some marketing work for them. They wanted me to target a specific audience, which I did, and I got a phenomenal response.

Not only did the customers buy the Fishing Lures, they told their friends to as well. And to me, that’s the power of Niche Marketing. Targeting an audience that has no interest in what you sell is not only a waste of your time, but also your money.

How To Evaluate An Affiliate Program - May 17th, 2008

Ok so you think you have found a good affiliate program to promote on your website or in your newsletter? There are some basic things you need to look out for before joining any affiliate program. Some of them may seem minor but those little petty things can cause you to lose hundreds of dollars in affiliate revenue.

Here are some of the basic things to watch out for when joining an affiliate program:

No Affiliate Manager Contact Information

If they don’t provide you with a way to contact them about their affiliate program then what are you going to do if you have a problem? Who are you going to email or call if your check doesn’t arrive?

Commission Is To Low

Do you really want to spend time on an affiliate program that pays a measely 2%? I see these programs all over. They pitch their affiliate program and make it sound like it is a privelidge to join their affiliate program and earn pennies per sale. I usually stay away from programs that offer less than 8% commission. I will go a little lower if the products sell good and there is a good profit.

Unreasonable Cookie Length

Make sure you find this in their terms or information pages. This is the amount of time that the customer that clicks through your link remains yours. The standard cookie length is 30 days. This means that if your visitor clicks your affiliate link then they have 30 days to buy for you to get credit. You really don’t want to promote an affiliate program that offers less than a 30 day cookie length.

Merchant Site Has Traffic Leaks

Probably the most common thing I see with affiliate programs. Mostly from newbie merchants that just got their affiliate program started. Most don’t realize what they are doing and usually will correct the problem once I explain to them how traffic leaks are hurting their business and their affiliate program. Traffic leaks are links on the affiliate program site that potential customers can click on and go to other sites… sites that the affiliate won’t get credit for if the visitor buys something. Leaks can consist of third-party banner ads, Google AdSense ads, popups, popunders, text links, etc…

No Phone Sale Tracking

With the internet market growing so rapidly every year this means more customers are shopping online. Alot of them will call the merchants 800 number to call in their order instead of submitting it online. Where does this leave you? The merchant gets the cash on the sale while you get stiffed. So when evaluating an affiliate program be sure to check to see if the merchant has measures set up to track phone orders for affiliates. It is simple to set up and it puts the affiliates ID number next to the phone number. So when customers call in they are asked for that number so they can manually credit the appropriate affiliate for the sale.

Higher Commission Is Not Always Better - May 11th, 2008

I have seen it a million times, especially from newer affiliates. They find two similar affiliate programs and immediately assume that the one that pays the highest commission is automatically the better affiliate program… not true! As an affiliate you need to look beyond the commission and evaluate the entire program. Yes, high commission are always nice to have but there are some things to look for that can make a high commission affiliate program practically worthless and a waste of your valuable time.

The first thing that you should look at is see how much the merchants are charging for their products. Merchants that pay a high commission is usually passing it off in the product prices. By boosting their prices up they make up for paying their affiliates high commissions by trying to get the customers to pay the bill. If the price is to high the customer will leave the merchants site and search for another merchant with lower prices. So you can promote the higher commission merchant to your hearts content. But if the prices are just to high for the customers you are simply wasting your time and effort on a dead cause.

Now, if you go with the merchant that pays a slightly less commission but has much lower prices then the customer is going to buy from them instead of the other merchant, therefore, giving you more conversions which will make you alot more money in the long run.

How To Best Select An Affiliate Program Online - May 9th, 2008

Marketing products and services through the Internet is unquestionably easier and more rewarding compared to traditional marketing methods. With the millions of people worldwide getting online each day, there’s an enormous possibility for a merchant to sell his products and generate huge income.

However, merchandisers are not the only ones who can benefit from online marketing. A booming industry nowadays, provides great opportunity as well to individuals as affiliate marketers. In affiliate marketing, an affiliate marketer doesn’t need to have his own products and services to sell. All he needs to do is to refer people to the merchant’s business site for them to buy the products and thereby, earn a commission.

The key to an affiliate marketer’s success is to choose a good affiliate program and to employ excellent marketing techniques in promoting or selling the products to consumers. Why good and not the best affiliate program? There is no “best affiliate marketing program” as one program might make one affiliate marketer a millionaire and the other a frustrated marketer. In other words, it can be a success to one and a failure to another. But there certainly is a good affiliate marketing program to start with. How to make it best would now depend on you.

Affiliate Marketing: How To Smash The Glass Ceiling - May 7th, 2008

Most affiliate marketers unconsciously create an invisible “glass ceiling” that curtails the growth of their own affiliate business. They do this by failing to create a substantial, positive profile on the Internet.

Are you reluctant to “stand out from the crowd”? Do you feel more comfortable being invisible on the Internet?

Most people experience a natural reticence to be “out there”, to “stand up and be counted”. How often are the front rows of a course or meeting left vacant because most people would rather be invisible up the back!

The same is true on the Internet, particularly with affiliate marketers. The noun “affiliate” means “connected as a part or an associate of…”, and the verb “affiliate” means “to connect to” or “join oneself to”. It does not, however, mean “lose oneself in…”

When you join an affiliate program, there is a tendency to lose your own personality in the “personality” of the program and its owner. Yet the really successful affiliate marketers are those who are able to place their own unique identity on what they do. They stand out by being themselves, showing who they are and what they have to offer.

How Do I Get Traffic To My Website? - May 5th, 2008

Internet Marketing requires you to sale other people’s products or services, or if you have decided to create your own product, sale your own. But whether you are selling your own or others, we all have one thing in common at getting traffic to our websites. But what is most important is not just getting traffic, but targeted traffic. Thus, How Do you or I get traffic to our sites?

In my early beginnings on the Internet, I tried many methods of getting traffic to my website. I was definitely a newbie in training at some of the software or services that I bought did me no good. I found, at times, that it was truly difficult to decipher which was a good deal and which was not who was honest, and who was not but I guess it goes with the Internet territory and you must always do your due diligence.

However, I have found three methods of getting traffic to my site or affiliate product or service . Buying it a PPC, such as Google, Mamma, Overture, linking or the hard one Search Engine Optimization.

Newbies, Are You Doing It All Wrong? - May 4th, 2008

Most new affiliate marketers make the mistake of sending their traffic directly to their affiliate link. If you’re doing this, you’re really depriving yourself of the income you’ve worked so hard to create. If you expect to make a decent income marketing other peoples products you’re going to need a “Squeeze Page.”

What’s a “Squeeze Page,” you ask? It’s a page which gives a brief description of the service that you’re marketing. It has a form requesting the name and email address of the person viewing your page. If the person wants more information about your product or service, they put their name and email address in the form, hit submit, where they will be taken to a thank you page which includes an exact link to your specific product or service. Notice that said “exact link”, this means you don’t send them to your homepage where they could become confused searching through all of the products and services you are selling. If they become too confused they could just click away, losing them and your potential sale. You direct them to the exact page where they will see more of what got them interested in visiting your site. Nothing turns customers off quicker than directing them to some general website that sells a bunch of stuff.

Using Product Recommendations To Increase Your Bottom Line - May 3rd, 2008

In affiliate marketing, there are many ways in which you can increase your earnings and maintain the account that you have worked so hard for already. Most of the techniques and tactics can be learned easily. No need to go anywhere and any further. They are available online, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

One of the more important ways of increasing affiliate marketing bottom line and sale is through the use of product recommendations. Many marketers know that this is one of the most effective ways in promoting a certain product.

If the customers or visitors trust you enough, then they will definitely trust your recommendations. Be very careful in using this approach, though. If you start promoting everything by recommendation, your credibility will actually wear thin. This is seen especially when recommendations are seemingly exaggerated and without much merit.

A Day In The Life Of An Affiliate Marketer - April 30th, 2008

Being in the affiliate marketing business is not that hard now with the internet at your disposable. It is much easier now compared to the days when people have to make use of the telephones and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the way their program is coming along.

So with technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this…

Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the network. As far as the marketer is concerned there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track on.
